World Series support in the Expat Teacher household

I stayed up last night to watch the first game of the World Series live (yes I'm a tired boy), but what a great start to the World Series this year! The Chicago White Sox were in absolute control in game one, but really never put the game away until the final out in the 9th inning.

At the Expat Teacher household we are fully behind the White Sox. My reasons are my allegiance to the American League, the long drought in the Windy City without an MLB trophy, and the injustice around Shoeless Joe Jackson.

Mrs. Expat Teacher has simpler reasons for rooting for (although not being stupid enough to stay up until 1 a.m. to watch) the White Sox. She wants 3rd base coach Joey Cora to get a ring. For those not in Seattle in 1995, Joey Cora was the starting 2nd baseman during that 'Refuse to Lose' season. When the Indians beat the Mariners in the ALCS, Joey Cora started crying in the dugout. He secured a solid place in Mrs. Expat Teacher's heart forever and ever.

GO SOX!
