Mark Steyn's argument means Chinese to rule Britain

Back in early January, Mark Steyn wrote a ridiculous argument that based on birthrates, Europe would be overrun with radical Muslims by 2035 because their populations were growing at a faster rate than white populations. I gave his argument no time on Page 132 because it was so weak, silly and racially biased. However, I did argue against it in personal e-mails with family and on two other blogs. My most complete argument against Mr. Steyn's assinine argument was in the comments at Dignan's.

A recent Times article showed that the white population, did in fact fall between 2001 and 2003 by about 100,000 people. That means there are only 44, 836, 000 whites in the U.K. Non-whites are about 7.1 million. So whites outnumber non-whites by about 6:1 in the U.K.

Mr. Steyn's article was a "circle-the-wagons" warning that the Arabs were going to overrun the joint. In fact, going by his own logic, Mr. Steyn should be worried about the Chinese take-over of Britain since they had a growth rate of nearly 12% between 2001-2003. Blacks grew by 4.4% and Asians by 3.3%.

Mr. Steyn was wrong then and he is certainly wrong now.
