Great Reminder

Today I found this link to the God's Politics blog in my Sojo Mail. Basically, today, August 9th, is the day we remember Franz Jagerstatter who was executed in 1943 for refusing to fight in Hitler's army. Often I think of people like Dietrich Bonhoeffer who so courageously lead the Church in Nazi Germany during WWII. Jagerstatter, however, was no great orator, thinker, or shepherd of God's people from what I can tell. He was a peasant and janitor of a church. His martyrdom is a great reminder that we needn't be great in the way of talent, skill, or looks in order to live out the gospel. We must be first and foremost obedient to Christ as we follow after him. His life and death are an example to us all.
