Shall we talk to bad guys? Open Thread

In the comments to my post about Clinton defining Obama as the wide-eyed newbie, gurufrisbee said, "Wouldn't a site that brings together people who actually have the interest level worthy of voting have been better served discussing the positions on this issue than whether or not it hurt a candidate or not?"

I think guru has a point. Let's talk both policy and politics. So, good Page 132 readers, should America talk to the bad guys of the world? With preconditions? Under what conditions?

Let's hear your opinions in the margins.

Updated: At DC Nemesis' request, we are going to make this more specific. Let's answer the YouTube question. "Should the next American President commit to meeting with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Cuba, North Korea and Venezuela within their first year in office?"
