OMG - Expat Teacher is in the top 30% of American earners
In Time's cover story, "United Stats of America", they report that only 30% of Americans make greater than $50,000 a year.That number floors me. I make about $50k teaching here in DC and it isn't nearly enough. Mrs. Expat Teacher and I couldn't possibly afford to buy a house, own a car or ever take a vacation on $50k a year.
To think that 7 out of every 10 Americans make less than me is astounding. I can't imagine the stress they live under and the height of their credit card bills.
