Monday's Meditation

I'm reading Connecting by Larry Crabb and have gained some great insights on creating a community in which lives are changed and people are equipped to impact others. This is a great book for anyone who is involved in ministry or is looking to deepen existing relationships. Below is a bit of what I've learned so far.

"Relationships heal when they reflect the energy of Christ. We can impact others
by:
  1. letting people know we delight in them as Christ does;
  2. eagerly looking for the goodness in someone's heart and identifying thepassions that are prompting loving, strong choices;
  3. exposing the darkness in someone's heart, their sin and pain, in order to engage them more convincingly with the Savior's kindness; it's the kindness ofGod that leads to repentance.

These three ingredients of powerfully healing relationships are available to every Christian but practiced so little. However, when they are practiced, even when only the first ingredient is in place, enormous good can result." (Page 21, Connecting).
