Democrats the new party of fiscal responsibility
As we have all seen, President Bush has refused to even consider tax increases to pay for the Iraq War, Katrina (and probable Rita) damage. Instead under the guise of "Operation Offset", Republicans have planned to cut $500 billion over 10 years.Progressive blog, ThinkProgress has decided to meet and beat the Republicans at their own game. Without raising taxes, they have a plan to reduce spending by $688 billion over 5 years.
Go check it out. The pendulum has swung and now Democrats are the party offering seriuos fiscally responsible plans. Any fiscally responsible Republicans ready to consider a new party for your needs?
