A Thought in the Shower

So, this last Sunday, our preacher was talking about how the divorce rate in "Christian marriages" is essentially equal to that of "non-Christian" marriages. He also stated that the sexual activity of "Christian" teens is essentially the same as that of "non-Christian" teens. What I want to know is that if the sanctity of marriage is such a vital issue to the religious right - to the point that they want a Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriages - why don't they push for an Amendment banning divorce and push for laws against fornication? Could it be that too many of their supporters' marriages might end up on the rocks? Maybe their kids aren't as "good" as they'd have us believe?

I'm beginning to understand why homosexuals see this same-sex marriage ban as homophobia and hate-mongering...
