The best sportsman and athlete in the world is Lance Armstrong

I'm sure that even in cycling ignorant America the top news story is Lance Armstrong's 7th consecutive victory of the Tour de France. He did it in real style this year, finishing 4 minutes 40 seconds ahead of his second place challenger, Ivan Basso. I've followed Lance since 2000 and watched virtually every stage of the 2, 232.7 miles of the race. I've always respected Lance for his courage and committment. He isn't a Christian and it is very sad that his marriage deteriorated as he pursued winning the Tour, but he is humble and successful. He is a team player and clearly aware that surviving cancer was a gift (although he doesn't admit it is a gift from the Almighty) and has acted like every day is borrowed time. He even gets along with the French. We fellow Americans could learn so much from him.
