Friday Prayer Blogging
This week's installment of Friday Prayer Blogging (which hasn't taken off on other blogs like I had hoped) has been inspired by recent events in the Anglican church and some of the pre-eulogies of the Pope. The Anglican church has moved to be united, even as they differ over some theology and the Pope dedicated a lot of his tenure to repairing the Great Schism. The wise men in charge of the mainline denominations see how much of an impact the Church could have if it was united. If only we'd listened when Jesus prayed it 2,000 years ago. There is a long way to go, so this Friday I'm committing to praying for
- greater unity in the Body of Christ
- greater sense of purpose in the Church in promoting the Good News of Jesus
- the Church to have a greater impact on the world
Shall we pray?
