Let 'Em Smoke Cigars

Having long wondered what a modern-day example of habeas corpus would look like, I learned a helpful civics lesson today. The U.S. Supreme Court says the de facto prisoners at Guantánamo in Cuba have the right to require the U.S. government to actually make a case for their imprisonment. GWBush ”disagreed with the ruling.” Like that’s a surprise! Imagine the temerity of the Supreme Court having the gall to tell him that he is not above the law. Did GWBush drink his way through the entire Nixon administration? It’s so sad to think that this multi-layered Case for Impeachment is destined to fade into history.
