I've found something more boring to watch on television than golf and gymnastics

My editor/writer wife has commandeered the television tonight to watch the Howard Scripps National Spelling Bee. How incredibly boring! Watching 12-year-old kids pushed to the limits in a silly "sport" by overbearing parents for a couple of hours is about as fun as watching paint dry. In fact, it might be more boring than golf or gymnastics.

I don't care if anyone can spell genizah, celice, rigaree, putiter, or bouleutoriun?

You know what's worse? ESPN big wigs are covering this. Mike and Mike, Stuart Scott and several other SportsCenter regulars are doing color commentary, backstage interviews and even in-depth profiles of the kids.

It's really stupid.
