Bush to escalate the Iraq War

According to the BBC, Bush 'to reveal Iraq troop boost' within the week.
The speech will reveal a plan to send more US troops to Iraq to focus on ways of bringing greater security, rather than training Iraqi forces.
Can we be sure that no one calls this a 'surge' or a 'temporary deployment'? If we aren't going to train Iraqis to take over the security, then we will have to be there for a long, long time. This is an escalation in the Iraq War when it is obvious that the forces for a stable, multi-ethnic Iraq are losing.

I'm really at a loss for words on this. All I can figure is that Bush is trying to save his legacy. Back in '98 and '99, I remember the screaming heads on talk radio talking asking "how many innocent interns will Clinton run over to save his legacy?" and it may have been a legitimate question.

Today I just want to know how many brave soldiers will die for Bush's legacy? This isn't inflammatory rhetoric. This is a real and legitimate question. When it is obvious that Iraq is less secure and more unstable in 2007 then it was in 2005, every day that our soldiers are there, they are in the kill zone. Why is Bush putting more men in the kill zone? I can only surmise that it is because he is worried about what the history books will write about him.
