Is Anyone Listening?

"The perception of unchecked violence (in Iraq) is creating an atmosphere of fear and hardening sectarianism which is empowering militias and vigilante groups, hastening middle-class exodus and shaking confidence in government and security forces," Lt. Gen. Michael Maples, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, said Wednesday, in testimony before the House Armed Services Committee.

Even US military analysts are testifying that the situation on the ground in Iraq is worsening on a long-term basis. The Dems are finally asking tough questions in preparation for taking over Congress in January. And the President? He's still talking about the Glorious Future of Iraq that our military invasion in 2003 was supposedly intended to produce! While I presume all this post-election chatter about a bipartisan effort to forge a new approach to this Iraq Quagmire could be a good thing... I'm still really sold on the notion of Impeachment.
