The Republican Plan to declare victory in Iraq and get out.

Democrats have been screaming for an international intervention in Iraq and the Republicans have laughed it off as saying it gives other countries a veto over our foreign policy. Yet, The Baker Group© has come up with a plan that does just that.

But it is a lot worse than the plan Democrats were suggesting. The Baker Group© wants to invite Iran and Syria to join efforts to stabilize the government. Iraqi President Jalal Talabani even endorses the idea.

Now, I'm not against inviting those guys to the table. I think we should be talking to everyone, but imagine the mud on America's face to invite a real and honorary member of the Axis of Evil to clean up America's mess.

Actually, I like this solution. First, it means America can start drawing down its troops and cutting our losses. Second, it allows an Arab country to claim victory in the war (granted two countries we don't want to win). This is vitally important because it robs Al-Qeada of an important propaganda war. They won't be able to claim they drove America out. It will be two established states that did the work.

What do you think? Is this a good plan? Should America invite Syria and Iran to help stem the violence in Iraq? What about the politics? Should Dems get behind this plan?
