Alpha is starting at HTB
Starting tonight and every Wednesday for the next 12 weeks, I will be attending the Alpha Course at my church. Mrs. Expat Teacher and I have signed up to lead two groups. We have our training tonight and next week before the course starts on May 4, 2005. We are very excited to be involved in this easy outreach opportunity for people to explore the meaning of life. HTB runs 3 courses a year and the average turnout on the first night is usually over 500 people. It really packs the place out, but what do you expect if you feed people and give everyone a chance to share their opinions of a talk and the ideas expressed therein?Alpha is a fabulous way for people to explore the meaning of life because everyone is in a group of 10 or so folks and each person is allowed to share their thoughts with their being no "right" or "wrong" answer. I know it sounds wishy-washy, but we've had testimony after testimony of people that have come to know a better life through Jesus because of the Alpha Course approach.
Anyway, for the next 12 Wednesdays I think that my posting will be light, but maybe gurufrisbee will pick up the slack. Like always, your patience and prayers are appreciated.
