One of my very favorite living American Christians is Jim Wallis, the longstanding leader of the Sojourners' community, editor of Sojourners' magazine, and a profound preacher.

His Lenten editorial in the current issue of Sojourners' magaine is one of the most powerful and compelling articles I have ever read.
