Does God Care?

The Pacific North West provides an interesting atmosphere for religious thought and dialogue. I suppose in many ways the North West reflects national trends and thoughts in the religious sphere, but at the same time my region is essentially a black hole in the realm of "Thy Kingdom Come" thought.
One of the great things about living here is that I get to interact with and read the thoughts of good natured people who are well meaning. Here is an article by a guy who seems to fit that mold. The following quote from the article caught my attention.
With a hiccup or two, our region has been blessedly free of the national trend of enlisting God on cultural and church battle lines -- and claiming to know what's on God's mind.

What's implied in his statement is that, God either has no interest in our culture/church - or that He shouldn't have an interest - and that it's not possible to know God's opinion on such matters - and that if it is possible, then that opinion has no bearing on the life of our community.
Any way, the article has lots of great quotes from some of our favorite Conservative leaders like Pat Robertson and Bill O'Reilly, so that should be enough to get you to read the article because we all love to celebrate the profound insight that these guys have to share with us!
