Cell phones and the Tube

There is now speculation that the attacks here might have been pulled off by Al-Qaeda using similar methods as the attacks in Madrid. The bombers in Madrid used cell (mobile) phones to activate the bombs. That wouldn't work in the Underground stations that were hit. Mobile phones don't work in the Underground. The bombs could only have been if someone left a bag/package on the Tube or by a suicide bomber. The bus that was hit could have been those options or by use with a cell phone, but I read somewhere, but can find citation that the bus was hit by a suicide bomber.

Just to be sure however, the landlines and cell phone networks here are down or under great strain.
A spokesman for Vodafone said emergency services were being given priority access to the mobile phone network which was causing problems for other users.

If you wish to contact me or Mrs. Expat Teacher an e-mail (or comment here) will work fine. Don't try to call us there is no need. We are fine and I'll be right here blogging anything else that comes up.
