Worshiping in England

One of the advantages of worshiping at HTB is the varied nature of the service. It is an Anglican church in its theology, but more like suburban mega-church in its worship style and service. God undoubtly moves in our presence!

Today we finished the service singing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" to follow a very good sermon about the power of Jesus to break us free from sin that binds. I don't think I've ever sung it in America. I wonder if that is because all my suburban mega-churches don't think a "hymn" fits in with their worship style or because the song is closely associated with the Civil War and the Union victory. Any thoughts?
