A costly slip of the tongue

A talk radio host in St. Louis was fired after just two weeks on the job today for calling Condoleeza Rice a "coon" - only he didn't mean it.

Here is the quote that got him fired 20 minutes later:
"She's been chancellor of Stanford," Dave Lenihan said on the air. "She's got the patent resume of somebody that has serious skill. She loves football. She's African-American, which would kind of be a big coon. A big coon. Oh my God. I am totally, totally, totally, totally, totally sorry for that."

Mr. Lenihan meant to say "coup" and said, "It kind of stinks" being fired from his dream job.

Now if this guy gets canned for that clearly unintentionally slip-up, what should happen to the guy that makes so many we had to invent a word for it?
