Monday's Meditation
"Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires."-Romans 8:5
And just what does the Spirit desire? To be sure, there are many things that we could throw out there: justice, love, peace, harmony. But I think that the Spirit desires something much more basic - to please and glorify the Father. So often we become mired in whether or not something is right, just, or loving that we never stop to dwell on whether or not what we are doing is God-honoring. If it is God-honoring, then it will be right, just, and loving. But, if what we seek to do does not honor God, then it will not be right, just, or loving.
